Mackinac Island doesn't get the itinerary volume some destinations do, but the one trip we've built out is worth a look if you're traveling solo and keeping costs down. It's built for someone who wants to skip the obvious tourist script and figure things out a bit on their own, without needing a big budget to make the weekend work.

Right now this is a single-itinerary destination, planned from Detroit, so the coverage is narrow but focused. If you're a solo traveller drawn to an adventurous, off-the-beaten-path pace rather than a packed schedule of must-see stops, it's a solid starting point for a weekend away, especially if a Detroit departure fits your plans.
