There is nothing more fun than seeing enormous trucks crush small cars, and if you’re ready to have more fun with your family than you have ever had before, the Maple Leaf Monster Jam Tour returns to Toronto this weekend.
Taking place at the Rogers Centre, (1 Blue Jays Way, Toronto ON) on January 18 and 19, Monster Jam is a freestyle and racing competition between the largest automotive machines in the world. Monster trucks are 12 feet tall by 12 feet wide and sit on top of 66-inch tall tires. Each truck weighs an incredible 10,000 pounds and they generate approximately 2000 horsepower each while traveling at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Really though, Monster trucks are best known for being able to fly across 130 feet (greater than 14 cars that are lined up side-by-side) and up to 35 feet in the air.
Ticket prices start at $23 for adults and $15 for Pizza Pizza kids tickets for kids aged 12 and under. You can also purchase special pit party passes for $10 that allow you to see the trucks up close, meet the drivers and take photos. The pit party takes place two hours before each show. Tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.ca or by calling (855) 985-5000. There are special TAP and Gold Circle tickets available at $133 and $55 respectively.
I recently had the chance to catch up with Northern Nightmare driver Cam McQueen, Monster Mutt Dalmation driver Taryn Laskey, and Son-Uva Digger driver Ryan Anderson in advance of the shows in Toronto tonight and tomorrow. Check out the video above!
