Now is a good time to visit the McMichael Canadian Art Collection if you love photography. As a bonus, take a walk on the wild side of McMichael (in the forest).
Photographers Ansel Adams and Edward Burtynski are both gods in their own rights and McMichael offers a chance to admire artwork from both artists until the end of September (along with the gallery’s beloved permanent collection from The Group of Seven).
Watching a clip of Ansel Adams filling his car with the equipment he needed to create his wonderful pictures (13 boxes!) made me realize there’s a lot I don’t know about photography.
Edward Burtynski will release a grandiose movie at the end of September called Watermark, which makes it even more interesting to see his work “in the flesh” at McMichael.
A few weeks ago, I took my friends visiting from Montreal to the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, very glad to finally have a chance to stroll around the outdoor Sculpture Garden inaugurated in 2011.
