Toronto’s Cavalcade Of Lights Takes Place On November 30

on November 16, 2013

Perhaps you mark the start of the holiday season with the purchase of your family’s annual Christmas tree or when you help the kids hang up their holiday stockings above the fire place.

For many Torontonians, the start of the holiday seasons begins with the Cavalcade of Lights celebration that takes place at Nathan Phillips Square (100 Queen St W., Toronto ON).

The festive event is a 47-year holiday tradition in Toronto, and features the illumination of Toronto’s official Christmas tree along with performances by some of the country’s best musical talent, along with a brilliant fireworks show and skating party at Nathan Phillips Square.

This year’s event takes place on Saturday November 30 and is presented by Great Gulf. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. with performances by Tyler Shaw, Cold Specks, Divine Brown and Carvin Winans. The lighting of the tree will take place, followed by a brilliant fireworks display at 8 p.m.

The celebration continues at 8:15 p.m. with a live concert from electro-pop artist Diamond Rings and an open-air skating party with DJ Dopey.
