The Fan Expo Canada organizers asked the more than 100,000 attendees in attendance over the weekend, to use the hashtag #FullFrontalNerdity when tweeting about their experiences over the weekend. Certainly, a more apt description cannot be found.
Since Thursday, Toronto’s Metro Convention Centre quite literally looked like it had become the physical manifestation of Gotham or Metropolis as the city was engulfed by a sea of comic, anime, gaming, and horror fans (the majority of whom were costumed in the likeness of various comic book superheroes and villains) for the 19th edition of Fan Expo Canada. This year, the event was presented on an even grander scale with the addition of sports zone where fans were invited to meet icons including Joe Montana, Roberto Alomar, Joe Sakic and Hulk Hogan.
In addition to the various celebrity autograph signings, photo opps and Q & A panels that were available for fans to check out, there were over 900 exhibitors hocking everything from baseball gloves to Princess Leia figurines.
Weekendtrips was on the scene and here’s a photo gallery for anyone who wasn’t able to make it.
