The heat waves of summer have passed (we hope), and it’s time to head outside to enjoy the best food and weather that Philadelphia has to offer. There’s something for everyone every time of the day when Philadelphia’s dining spills out onto the sidewalks. Here are five great places to pull up a chair:
Creperie Beau Monde (624 S 6th Street) brings a truly enjoyable French dining experience to your table so if you like crepes, this is a must-try. Add to the experience by watching the crepes being made the old-fashioned way through the window on Bainbridge Street.
Birra (1700 E Passyunk Avenue) doesn’t have a lot of outdoor seating, but the pizza, beer and people-watching are worth the wait. You’ll find every combination of pizza toppings you’ve ever thought of, and probably a few you couldn’t have dreamed up.
Shake Shack (2000 Sansom Street) makes hamburgers and hot dogs go gourmet, and boasts an overall outdoor theme that reflects its roots in a New York City park. There’s a feast for your canine companion, as well.
Hickory Lane (2025 Fairmont Avenue) offers outstanding food, so it’s a good thing the outdoor seating is great because you’ll be too full to move for awhile. Both the pre fixe and dinner menus are divine and diverse.
Kraftwork (541 E Girard Avenue) is the place to be if you’re a fan of Philadelphia sports. It’s bar food at its best, and the deals are great on game day.
