Beer lovers unite! This Friday and Saturday at Campus Martius Park, Detroit will be hosting its second annual Summer Beer Fest. Whether you prefer pale ales, love lagers, or just like day-drinking, the Detroit Summer Beer Fest has a sampling cup calling your name.
This year’s fest will feature beers from over 60 breweries—from local brews to international favorites—and includes gluten-free options. There will also be spirits available including Jacob’s Ghost white whiskey and Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Save some room for food though—there will be Michigan-made favorites available like Chicken Shack and Jay’s Stuffed Burgers. The event will also feature live music from local bands.
You can leave Beer Fest feeling warm and fuzzy, and not just from the alcohol. The festival will be supporting Handy Hearts, a charity that provides resources for cancer patients, as well as Classics Booster Club, a nonprofit gymnastics organization.
Beer Fest will run from 5 to 10 PM on Friday, and 1 to 6 PM on Saturday. General admission tickets are $45, and VIP are $70. Yes, it’s 21 and up. When you’re done with your day of beer-sampling debauchery, there’s a Designated Driver program that can help you out. For more information, visit the website at http://www.detroitsummerbeerfest.com/.
