Washington's Wolf Trap Park

If you’re looking for things to do in Washington, boy do I have a howling idea for you!

The ‘W’ in Washington’s Wolf Trap Park might as well stand for weekend, because it is one of the best places to visit at the end of the week.

Wolf Trap National Park (1551 Trap Rd., Vienna VI) for the Performing Arts hosts a wide range of concerts including pop and country genres in the Washington area. It features many different venues as well.

The Filene Center

The Filene Center is a 7000-seat concert pavilion that is ideal for summer concerts because of its under cover seating with open sides that offer a great view of the hills of the Wolf Trap Park. With its featured lawn seating, concert goers can bring picnics to enjoy both before and during the performance.

The Barns at Wolf Trap

Two 18th century barns serve as a unique venue for year-round indoor concerts as well. The larger barn features 284 seats in its main level and 98 seats in the hayloft. The Barns features jazz, bluegrass, chamber music, folk, comedy, cabaret, and country music.

Children’s Theatre

Special family friendly performances are held at The Barns from late June through early August. These feature music, storytelling and puppetry with the target audience being school-aged children.

Ticket prices range from $8 – $10 for kids.

After each show, National Park Service Park Rangers lead nature walks for the kids after Theatre-In-The-Woods shows.

Tickets for Wolf Trap’s performances can be purchased via the Wolf Trap Box Office, by calling 1 (877) WOLFTRAP or online at www.wolftrap.org
