This weekend’s the Delicious Food Show took place at the Better Living Centre and featured more than 80 food products alongside several restaurants and alcohol companies and more than 25 hands-on workshops throughout the weekend, including an offering from Loblaws Black Label.
But if all of that didn’t tickle your fancy, the one and only Martha Stewart rolled into the building on Friday with all the grace and elegance expected (she may have been late for the press conference I was at) and offered up a million and one home-entertaining tips, such as pre-plating strong and cold beverages prior to guests arrival. During her on-stage banter, she also spoke about her new Martha Stewart “Cakes” book, which she spent time promoting.
Also during the show, Toronto Life launched their special edition cookbook. The cookbook (retailing at $11.95) features recipes from The Gabardine’s Mac & Cheese, Rock Lobster’s Lobster Roll, Moo Milk Bar’s Toffee Nut Cookie and many more. The photographer in the pages of the cookbook make the chef look like they stepped directly out of a Vogue Magazine shoot. The recipes: just as good.
On-hand, a half-dozen Canadian celebrity chefs did demonstrations and meet/greets with fans on the Food Network Celebrity Stage. Some that we happened upon were Lynn Crawford and Michael Smith, who both seemed more than happy to be among their loving fans.
