There’s nothing like a good glass of wine and Ottawa has some of the best wineries in the country.
Whether you know your Merlot from your Pinot, these Ottawa wineries provide a great weekend getaway while also offering you the chance to hone your sommelier skills.
Jabulani Vineyard and Winery:
8005 Jock Trail, Richmond ON
The newest winery to make a splash in the Ottawa region, Jabulani is known for great wine and a wonderful agritourism experience.
Countryman’s Estate Winery:
3387 County Road 26, Prescott ON
Specializing in fruit wine, this Prescott place makes wines from watermelon, strawberries, black cherries, and rhubarb. It reminds me a lot of Kawartha Country Wines that I visited a few months ago. Definitely one of our top recommendations.
Strathmore Orchard and Winery:
3977 Bender Rd., Monkland ON
Another fruit winery, Strathmore Orchard produces its adult beverages from rasperries, strawberries, apples and cranberries. They use cranberries from Upper Canada Cranberries which we also recommended as a great Ottawa weekend trip idea.
Domaine du Cervin:
13845 Gibeault Rd., North Dundas ON
Run by a Swiss family in Chesterville, Domaine du Cervin offers red, white, rose, dessert and ice wines. The benefit of this winery is that they have an adjoining deer farm and can also offer fresh deer meat to complement their selections.
