City Mouse / Country Mouse is a culinary experience unlike any other.
The brainchild of Chowbella and Cheesewerks, the City Mouse / Country Mouse tour takes customers on a day-long journey across Southern Ontario where the cheese-making process is explored by encounters with dairy farmers, meetings with artisan cheese producers and just generally learning about cheese.
Hosted by Cheesewerks boss Kevin Durkee and Chowbella owner Trina Hendry, the tour begins with an artisan bakery in Toronto’s east end where breakfast will be served. The surrounding countryside offers lessons about sampling Cow, Goat and Sheep’s milk cheese.
This is followed by lunch at a restaurant that was featured on the Food Networks You Gotta Eat Here. The final stop includes checking out a cheese boutique before finishing off with an Artisn Cheese & Craft Beer pairing and dining event.
Current tour dates are April 20th, May 25th and June 22nd. The cost is $184 per person plus HST, which includes transportation, lunch, all food/beverage samples and dinner with craft beer pairings.
