China Official Misses Flight And Goes Viral

on February 25, 2013

When you miss a flight you can take the high road, the low road, or the Yan Linkun road.

Yan Linkun, the deputy chairman of a state-owned Yunnan Mining Corporation, has officially gone viral for his outburst caught on camera after he and his family missed a flight.

What started as a verbal argument soon turned into a wrecking ball of irresponsibility; Linkun was slamming keyboards on monitors; vandalizing airport property; and smashing windows — just wait for 2:10.

And this is only the most recent example of passenger outburst in China.

In April 2012, 20 passengers protested a 16-hour flight delay by blocking the Shanghai Pudong airport runway. And in August, two angry passengers opened the emergency exit while the plane was still on the ground for the lack of compensation for flight delay.

But it gets worse. In October, an entire Jetstar flight crew was held hostage by passengers after the plane was delayed because of fog.

Surprisingly, Yan Linkun wasn’t detained by airport security. I guess his outburst caught on camera was enough…
