If you liked the circus as a kid and already have your Halloween costume picked out, chances are quite high that you will absolutely love Detroit’s Bizarre Theatre.

While Halloween parties and events are the norm at this time of your year (I am willing to bet your Facebook inbox is chock-full of party invites), this one is unlike any other.

The brainchild of John Dunivant, the Bizarre Theatre has been around for the past 10 years and has moved its location from an informal set-up near State Fair Avenue to one year the Detroit Fillmore, the event which includes performance art, tightrope walkers, and visual art has established what seems to be a permanent residency at the Masonic.

This year, the popular Detroit shindig has added a special $250 gala-style event to its usual Halloween fare that takes place tonight. Ticket holders get to explore the Masonic and the show with surprise twists and turns before the public party on Saturday.

For the main event, it is expected that more than 4000 costumed party-goers will attend the main party on Saturday.
