The Adams Morgan community in Washington DC is always a good Weekendtrip idea but it is particularly a great one this weekend.
The area is made up of many different art galleries, bars, bookstores, coffee houses, nightclubs, restaurants and unique specialty shops.
There are also some phenomenal restaurants in the neighborhood as well. Choices range from Ethiopian and Vietnamese cuisine to selections from the Caribbean and Latin America.
This weekend marks one of the most popular days in Adams Morgan as it is, appropriately enough, Adams Morgan Day. The annual neighborhood festival features live music and a bevy of international food from around the world. Adams Morgan Day offers sidewalk cafes, street vendors, and cultural demonstration. A special Kids Fair features games, interactive science exhibits, clowns and Chinese Lion Dancers.
There are also special areas set up. “The Arts on Belmont” is a shaded residential block that is chock full of original artists. “The Dance Plaza” is also worth checking out as it features live music and workshops on how to rumba and salsa.
