One of the best things about the commute back from work is hearing the wonderful live music that serenades you in practically every Toronto subway station. The musicians play for tips and this past weekend was the Super Bowl for these buskers.
The Scotiabank BuskerFest kicked off on Thursday and wrapped up today. The event is currently in its 14th year and its 2013 edition featured over 60 different acts that included jugglers, singers and even a fire-eater or two.
For this season, BuskerFest moved from the St. Lawrence Market to Yonge Street (between Queen and College). Visitors who wanted to enjoy the sights and sounds were asked only to provide a pay-what-you-can donation, with the proceeds benefitting Epilepsy Toronto.
While there were many entertaining acts and exhibitions, our top pick was beatboxer Scott Jackson (who also was featured on Canada’s Got Talent.
Check out this sample video for what you missed out on at BuskerFest or simply enjoy more if you did happen to catch the ultra-talented mic man at the event.
