While I am sure that we are all anxious to put away our winter coats and ring in the new Spring season, you may not be aware that the best way to celebrate the warmer weather might be in Buffalo.
Buffalo’s Botanical Gardens (2655 South Park Ave., Buffalo NY) has planned many fun activities to be enjoyed by all. Things kick off this weekend with Taste of Paradise.
The Taste of Paradise is a tropical garden celebration designed to get you in the mood for Spring. It serves as a special sneak preview of the upcoming Spring Flower Show. The event invites attendees to ditch their sweaters for tropical gear and admission includes garden cocktail samples from ONE ROQ Vodka, drinks from Seagram’s Escapes Coolers and appetizer options from a host of restaurants. Tickets are $25 for members and $30 for non-members. They can be purchased online.
The Spring Flower Show opens on March 16 and runs until April 7, open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will include special appearances from Farmer Brown’s Animals (including lambs, pigs, donkeys and more), the Easter Bunny (March 16, 17, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31) and the Dress Your Easter Best contest from March 29-31. The Dress Your Easter Best contest encourages guests to celebrate spring tradition and wear a beautiful Easter Bonnet or Easter Tie to the Botanical Gardens. The Easter Bunny’s helper will choose winners throughout the day and winners will receive a prize! These events are all included with Spring Flower Show admission which is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for students.

The Easter Egg Hunt takes place on March 30 with children ages six and under invited to participate. Each hunter will collect two eggs to exchange for a great prize. After the Hunt, kids who took part are admitted into the Gardens for free where they can enjoy a scavenger hunt, games, prizes and more. Please note that pre-registration is required as this event does sell out quickly. Registration is $6 for the children/grandchildren of Garden members, $8 for non-members and $10 for everyone after March 17. Pre-registration is available here
