And looks like this is what happens when you “Live 52” friends, the first four weeks of 2013 fly by and the next thing you know it’s Black History Month.

If you’re still looking for a solid home base to celebrate the festivities — and of course mingle with an overall interesting crowd — Music Africa and the Gladstone Hotel offers four weeks of free Friday music; a line-up that gives fans a sneak peek into Afrofest 2013.

The Gladstone Hotel free music Friday series starts off Friday February 1st with Donne Roberts playing a set between 9PM to 11 PM at the Melody Bar.

What should you wear?

The Gladstone Hotel is famous for being the artsy-alternative-culture corner of Queen West. You’ll run into everything from neo-beatniks, hip hop nerds, DJs, Bohos, writers, artists, and even the odd suit.

Recommendation: Just bring your own definition of sexy to the party — confidence reins supreme. But hey, you really can’t go wrong with black.

As a teaser to Donne Roberts concert this weekend, watch him shred and play original and classic guitar licks in the video below.

See you there!
