While the biggest shopping day on the Canadian calendar used to be Boxing Day, our country has quietly been following the lead of our neighbors to the south and now Black Friday isn’t just limited to the U.S.
Mississauga’s Square One Shopping Centre (100 City Centre Dr., Mississauga ON) kicks off its Black Friday sales tomorrow at 7 a.m. The 360 stores found inside the mail will all be marking down their inventory by as much as 60 percent and to celebrate the holiday, the first 50 consumers to show a $100 Square One retailer receipt with tomorrow’s date will receive a $25 Square One gift card and gift bag. Considers who have downloaded the Square One Mobile App and follow @ShopSquareOne on Twitter will also receive a $25 Square One Gift Card.
While we are all used to seeing photo opps with Santa Claus at the mall, Square One introduces a special program this year, which makes a potential first visit with St. Nick even more special. For children affected by autism spectrum disorder, Square One is offering a special program which allows these kids to enjoy a leisurely visit with Santa. Each Sunday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., before most stores open, families can book a 15-minute appointment for a one-on-one visit with Santa. A portion of all photo packages will benefit Kerry’s Place Autism Services.
Santa will be at at his Village located on level 2 in front of the GAP on weekdays from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (open Christmas Eve from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.). Visits with Santa are complimentary with optional professional photo packages ranging from $15 to $50.
