If you’d like to get your adrenaline fix and are feeling lucky, Ottawa’s Rideau Carleton Raceway is a great Ottawa weekend getaway.
The track (4837 Albion Rd., Ottawa ON) features year-round standard-bred harness horse racing at their 5/8th mile track. Live racing happens every Thursday, Friday and Sunday at 6:30 p.m. In addition, the Rideau Carleton Raceway has also added a brand new Bingo Hall that supports 28 different local charities and a 650-seat dining room that allows for a full view of the race track. That’s in addition to the slot machines that round out the facility.
If you are hungry, buffets are a standard at Vegas casino’s and it is no different in Ontario’s capital. There is a 100-item buffet available as well as an a la carte menu. While the buffet is usually only open to adults, on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., the dining room is open to all ages for brunch or dinner buffet. For this occasion, there is a special family entrance on the right side of the building.
