A Free Army-Style Fitness Challenge in Toronto This Weekend

on July 5, 2013

O Course

If your typical workout routine of running three miles and weightlifting for an hour is starting to become mundane, maybe it’s time to try the grueling O Course Crucible obstacle course based on those used in military training.

O Course Crucible is offering a complimentary training session and fitness challenge this Saturday, July 6, where you’ll get the chance to navigate an obstacle course designed by a Military Ops Unit.  This is the only obstacle training course available to civilians in Canada.

Training sessions culminate in the O Course Crucible Race on August 24th where participants complete a demanding fifteen-mile obstacle course, designed by former U.S. Marine drill instructors, to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.  This Saturday is your chance to learn more about the big race, score valuable training tips and work out like a soldier for free.

As if the opportunity to challenge yourself military-style wasn’t incentive enough, prizes will be awarded to the top male and female participants and a barbeque is scheduled to follow the training.

Although the training course is based on models used by the U.S. Marines, those who worry their stamina and strength are not up to military standards shouldn’t be intimidated.  Training is open to all fitness levels, although you should contact the training staff in advance if you have a medical condition.

When this session is over, don’t be surprised if your ordinary workout regiment suddenly seems like child’s play.
